Drivers in Split should plan ahead today, 3 November 2026, as a series of street closures take effect around Poljud stadium for the public farewell to singer Mišo Kovač, scheduled for 5pm.

Police and event organisers have announced that several roads near the stadium will be closed, and they are asking people to arrive on foot or by public transport wherever possible.

The first restrictions begin at 11am. Ulica VIII. mediteranskih igara will be closed at the entrance to the Poljud swimming pool car park, near the Mandrach restaurant, and at the junction with Ulica Sedam Kaštela. Only police vehicles and vehicles with a permit will be allowed through this section.

From 2pm, further closures will come into force. Part of Zrinsko-frankopanska ulica, between the junction with Ulica Hrvatske mornarice and the entrance to Lora, will be closed, as will Ulica Put Supavla from the junction with Ulica Put Brodarice. Access on these roads will be limited to Croatian Army vehicles, residents, public transport, and vehicles with a permit.

Police have warned that parking will not be possible in the wider area around the stadium. Motorists are advised to park in other parts of the city and continue to Poljud on foot or by public transport.

Officers will not tolerate illegal stopping or parking, especially in Zrinsko-frankopanska ulica, Ulica Hrvatske mornarice, Ulica Sedam Kaštela and Ulica Put Supavla. Any improperly parked vehicles will be removed.

Given the expected large crowds and traffic delays, police are asking all road users to be patient and cautious, and to follow the instructions of officers on the ground.

Police also announced that, in line with the Law on Police Duties and Powers, the public gathering will be filmed. Recording will cover the stadium area and approach roads before, during and after the event.
